Colorado vs. Oregon Key Stats

Colorado Buffaloes

The Colorado Buffaloes have been an excellent offensive team throughout the season as they are averaging 41.3 points on 479 total yards per game. Junior quarterback Shedeur Sanders has been one of the best players in college football this season as he is 107-of-136 (78.7 completion percentage) for 1,251 yards with 10 touchdowns and one interception. With the injury to wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter, that will be a blow on both sides of the ball. This offensive line specifically needs to step up as they will be facing a battle every snap in the trenches.

The defense of the Colorado Buffaloes have been struggling a little bit as they are giving up 30.3 points on 460.3 total yards per game. In their most recent game against the Colorado State Rams, they allowed 35 points on 499 total yards. The defense allowed the Rams to go 10-of-20 on third down tries but was able to force four turnovers (three interceptions, one fumble recovery). They need to be able to get their defense off the field as Colorado State had the ball for 34:37. If they can figure out how to scheme their defense without Hunter covering the top wide receiver, they can be in the discussion for an upset.

Oregon Ducks

The Oregon Ducks have been one of the best offensive teams in all of college football as they are scoring 58 points on 587 total yards per game. They are led by senior quarterback Bo Nix as he is currently 76-of-98 (77.6 completion percentage) for 893 yards with eight touchdowns without an interception as well as 11 rushes for 60 yards. Running the football has also opened the playbook as junior running back Bucky Irving has been doing incredibly well as he has 27 rushes for 216 yards (8.0 yards per attempt) with three rushing touchdowns while catching 12 passes for 95 yards (7.9 yards per reception). They have a lot of talent and it will be tough to face off against them.

The Ducks defense has been doing incredibly well as they are giving up 15.7 points on 285.7 total yards per game. They are dominant defending the pass as they are giving up just 158.7 passing yards per game right now. In their previous game against Hawaii, they allowed 10 points on 201 total yards. Hawaii went just 2-of-14 on third down and threw only for 3.2 yards per pass. If they can keep everything in front of them, they will be in a great spot going forward.
