Ohio State vs. Notre Dame Key Stats

Ohio State Buckeyes

The Ohio State Buckeyes have been a great offensive team throughout the season as they are scoring 40.3 points on 474.7 yards per game. Junior quarterback Kyle McCord has been playing incredibly well this year in his first year as a starter as he is 53-of-76 (69.7 completion percentage) for 815 yards with six touchdowns and one interception. They have a lot of talent out wide with Marvin Harrison Jr and Emeka Egbuka as well but their running game has been doing well. Junior running back TreVeyon Henderson has been doing extremely well with 30 rushes for 191 yards (6.4 yards per carry) with four rushing touchdowns and three catches for 45 yards (15.0 yards per reception). With coach Ryan Day doing extremely well as the leader of this program, this will be a great test.

The defense of the Ohio State Buckeyes needs to continue dominating as they are allowing 6.7 points on 223.7 total yards per game. They have been shutting down the opposing passing game as they are giving up just 140.3 passing yards per game. Ohio State has been a lot of talent on the defensive line specifically and should be able to get to the quarterback a lot better than the five sacks as a team they possess. If they can disrupt the passing game here, they will be in a great position to win on the road here.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have been one of the best offensive teams in the nation as they are scoring 50.5 points on 508.8 total yards per game. Senior quarterback Sam Hartman has been doing some of the best in the country as he is 64-of-90 (71.1 completion percentage) for 1,061 yards with 13 touchdowns without an interception. Junior running back Audric Estime has been doing extremely well as he has 63 rushing attempts for 521 yards (8.3 yards per carry) for five rushing touchdowns as well as five receptions for 55 yards. If they can continue dominating at the line of scrimmage, they will be as successful as they have been thus far.

The Notre Dame defense has been one of the best in college football as they allowed 11.8 points on 234.3 total yards per game. They have dominated against the pass throughout the season as they are allowing 126.8 passing yards per game. Notre Dame have been doing well as they have five interceptions, 15 pass deflections and seven forced fumbles. If the defense can continue to be a dominant force, they will be able to make an appearance in the College Football Playoff.
