Golden State Warriors Vs. Phoenix Suns Preview and Prediction (10/25/22)
Golden State Warriors Vs. Phoenix Suns Betting Odds Breakdown
The Golden State Warriors will be meeting up with the Phoenix Suns for the first time this season on October 25th.
Phoenix took the season series over the Warriors last season, and they’ll be trying to do it again. The Suns are coming into this game as the favorite at -3, and the over/under is set at 224.5 points.
Golden State Warriors Preview
Golden State is coming off of a win against the Sacramento Kings, and they’ll be looking to build up some momentum against the Phoenix Suns.
The Warriors just barely got the win over the Kings in overtime, and that can be a reason for why the Suns can win. But, the Warriors are still a good team. Stephen Curry played really well against Sacramento, and even Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins put up 24 points each. However, if it was not for those three, Golden State would have lost this game. Even Klay Thompson didn’t contribute much to the Warriors’ offense. If Klay can contribute a little bit on offense, then Golden State should be able to put up a good fight against Phoenix.
One of the players that could have a huge impact for the Warriors is James Wiseman. The Warriors have been searching for a center for several years now, and it looks like they may have found an answer in James Wiseman. He’s been injury prone ever since he came into the league, though. But, if he can stay healthy and play some solid defense, the Warriors can be an even better team than what they are now.
Phoenix Suns Preview
The Phoenix Suns are coming off of a win against the Los Angeles Clippers, and they’ll be looking to get another win off of a very solid team.
Going into this season, the Suns are feeling like a team that won’t be able to be as good as they were last year. Although he is still a solid player, Chris Paul is really starting to regress as a player, and it doesn’t feel like they have the talent to make a deep playoff run. Paul’s usage rate has been declining rapidly as well, going from 19.7 percent last year to 15.9 percent this year. However, Devin Booker is really starting to step up. In the Suns and Clippers game, Booker was the highest scorer for Phoenix with 35 points. If he can keep up that level of play, then he can put Phoenix in a position to win.
This could be a game where Deandre Ayton is dominant. The Warriors have a very young and inexperienced player in James Wiseman to guard Ayton, and Ayton could take advantage of that very quickly. Deandre Ayton ended up with 13 points against the Clippers, but he could have a great game on any night he wants. He showed that he can do that against the Mavericks when he put up 18 points on the board, and then he had 26 points in the very next game. This game could come down to how dominant Ayton is.
Winner Prediction: Phoenix Suns -3
The Suns don’t look like a bad team this season. In fact, they look pretty good. Along with them playing pretty well to start the season, they will also be at home for this game.
Because of all that, the Suns should be able to get a win over the reigning NBA Champions in the Golden State Warriors.
