St Louis at Colorado 8:00 PM EST
Line: Colorado -250
You do not need us to tell you that a -250 has a great shot to win tonight. That’s pretty much common knowledge, or at least it should be. We firmly expect Colorado to close out St. Louis tonight and move on to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in 20 years.
But we aren’t going to lay -250 with them to do it, we are going to take them at -1.5 goals which is even money. Colorado has scored 11 goals in the last two games as they completely dominated St Louis in Games 3 & 4 on the road.
Of course, the injury to their starting goalie, Jordan Binnington had a lot to do with the 11 goals that were allowed. But looking a little deeper, in Game 4, Colorado outshot St. Louis 37-20 as they were all over the Blues with their speed and transition game.
That was a 5-2 victory for Colorado, and we expect a similar score in this one tonight. 4-1 or 5-2 wouldn’t shock us in the least. Also, the Avs have seemed to rally around Nazem Kadri, as he has unfortunately been receiving racist comments because he was involved with the injury to Binnington.
That’s terrible in and of itself but sometimes teams rally around situations like this and they rally around a teammate they love. It certainly seems Colorado did that in Game 4 with the emphatic win and Kadri had a hat trick in that game.
Look for the Avs to easily close out St Louis tonight so lay -1.5 goals and lets hit this one
