Los Angeles Chargers vs. Cleveland Browns (10/9 @ 1:00 PM EST.)

Line: Los Angeles (-3)
Total: 47.5

Chargers vs. Browns Breakdown and Betting Odds

The Chargers travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns in a matchup of 2-2 teams that started the 2022 NFL season with lofty expectations but have fallen short thus far.

The Chargers are 3-point favorites, and the over/under is set at 47.5.

These two teams met on October 10, 2021, in Los Angeles in an offensive slugfest; the Chargers mounted a fourth quarter comeback to win the game with a final score of 47-42.

Los Angeles Chargers Overview

Quarterback Justin Herbert has been a full practice participant as it appears he is healing from the rib cartilage injury that he sustained in Week 2, and he has continued to play through.

The Chargers are coming off a road win in Week 4 against the Houston Texans by the score of 34-24.

PFF ranks the Chargers team grade as tied with 16th overall. They rank 12th in points scored with 92 through four weeks.

Cleveland Browns Overview

The Browns are coming off a disappointing road loss to Atlanta last week. Like their Week 2 loss to the New York Jets, the defense has not been able to hold a lead in the latter stages of the game.

Myles Garrett is back at practice after his automobile accident on September 26. The Browns were without both their starting defensive ends in Week 4, and Jadeveon Clowney continues to be out with an ankle injury.

PFF ranks the Browns team grade as tied with at 16th overall. The Browns are tied for 6th in points scored with 105 through four weeks.

TakingVegas.com Pick: Browns (+3)

The Chargers are on the road for the second straight week and will have difficulty stopping the league’s second-ranked rusher, Nick Chubb, at home in Cleveland.

The Browns are 12-3 under Coach Kevin Stefanski since 2020 the week after a loss.

The Browns struggled to stop the running game of the Falcons in Week 4. The Chargers do not have the run attack that Atlanta has; Austin Ekeler has not broken through for a big game yet. His highest yardage (60) was in Week 4 against the Texans.

With Myles Garrett back on the field in Week 5, we think the Browns will avenge the 2021 loss and get back on the winning track.
