Atlanta at Miami 7:30 PM EST
Line: Miami -7.5
Game 2 of this series is tonight off the Game 1 thrashing Miami threw Atlanta’s way. The final score was 115-91 and it probably shouldn’t have even been that close. It was a complete domination and that most likely will not be any different this evening.
The loss of Capela really set the Hawks back and now Bogdanovic is a game time decision for Game 2 as he is dealing with an injury as well. We do not expect Trae Young to play as poorly as he did in Game 1 when he was 1 of 12 from the field for 8 points and 6 turnovers. He’s not going to duplicate that this evening however, we do not expect an overly efficient game from him.
Miami is too good on defense and Atlanta really has no other solid offensive options to relieve Young of pressure. Miami is also very deep with Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson coming off the bench along with Dewayne Dedmon and Gabe Vincent. They are a legit 9 deep to go along with a very good starting lineup.
That is why they were able to get the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference this season despite having key guys miss 225 games all total. That shows how deep they are and playing a team that is not deep, who is now playing their 4th playoff game in 7 nights’, is a recipe for success for Miami.
Expect them to wear Atlanta down in this game and to win it by double digits when all is said and done. There are bad matchups all over the floor for Atlanta as game 1 showed. Game 2 will be no different.
