If you listened to the podcast here on the site, Chris released the Over in this Miami Ohio / Kentucky affair as we believe this one should sail over the number. The original number was set too low at 48.5 and it was immediately bet up to where it sits now, which is 54. That is still too low.
People don’t think of Kentucky as a good offensive team, but they very much are. They scored over 40 points 5 times last season and over 50 twice. This is a team that finished second in the SEC East, only behind Georgia so they have turned the corner as a program. They aren’t Georgia or Alabama, but they are in the next tier of the SEC.
Will Levis is back at the helm at QB for the Wildcats and he was extremely successful last season as he threw for 2,826 yards with 24 TD’s and 13 Interceptions. He is looking to have an even bigger year in 2022 and has even more talent around him to do so. They will need to fill the void at Running Back as leading back Chris Rodriguez has been suspended however, they have a good senior running back in Kavosiey Smoke and this shouldn’t be a huge downgrade. He has rushed for over 1200 yards in his career and vs a MAC opponent, we don’t believe this will come back to bite them.
Miami Ohio plays a wide-open style as they will throw the ball a lot in this game because they will not be able to run on the Kentucky Defense, but they will find some holes in their secondary. Last Year, Miami Ohio opened their season at Cincinnati and 63 combined points were scored in that game. They then traveled to Minnesota and 57 combined points were scored in that one. When this program steps up in class, they allow a lot of points and tonight will be no exception.
Kentucky will do most of the scoring while Miami Ohio will contribute as well. This game should easily see the 60’s.
