Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Philadelphia 76ers Preview and Prediction (2/15/23)

Line: 76ers -3, Cavaliers +3
Total: 216.5

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Philadelphia 76ers Betting Odds Breakdown

The Cleveland Cavaliers will be making a trip to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers on Wednesday.

Philadelphia is coming into this game as the favorite at -3, and the over/under is sitting at 216.5 points.

Cleveland Cavaliers Preview

Cleveland is coming into this game on a seven game win streak, and they will try to keep it going against Philadelphia.

This young Cavaliers team has been fantastic this season, with them beating the Spurs their last time out to give them a record of 38-22. Cleveland’s win streak has really let us see Evan Mobley start to develop. In this seven game streak for Cleveland, Mobley has had at least 15 points in six of those seven games, with his highest being 28 points against the Pelicans. Evan Mobley doesn’t have to be a player who gets 30 points a night to be a star, but he could be very dangerous if he can average about 15-20 points and about 10 rebounds per game in the future. On top of that, he can play some great defense. He has some real potential, and we should keep an eye on him in the next few years.

The one matchup in this game that will be fun to watch is going to be between the centers. Cleveland will need to find a way to slow down Joel Embiid, and that may mean that they will throw both Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley at him to keep him contained. Cleveland is one of the best teams in the league at preventing scoring in the paint, with them only letting up about 46 points in the paint per game, which is third in the league. That will definitely slow Embiid down at least a little bit. Either way, this will be a very physical matchup between the big men.

Philadelphia 76ers Preview

Philadelphia is coming into this game after getting a win over the Houston Rockets in their last time out.

Philadelphia is only one game ahead of the Cavaliers in the eastern conference standings going into this one, so this is a pretty big game for both of these teams that are trying to at least get to the third seed for the playoffs. Like said before, this game could very well be a battle of the big men. The matchup between Joel Embiid and Jarrett Allen along with Evan Mobley should make this a fun and physical game.

If Joel Embiid is having trouble finding consistency inside of the paint with both Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley on the inside, it wouldn’t be surprising if Philadelphia lets James Harden take more control on offense and let him start moving the ball well. After all, James Harden is having one of the best years of his career when it comes to sharing the ball, with him averaging about 11 assists per game. Along with his passing skills, he is also able to score pretty well, with him averaging about 21 points per game. Both of these teams feel very well matched, so it should be a fun one.

Winner Prediction: Cleveland Cavaliers +3

If this game ends up coming down to the wire, it wouldn’t be very surprising at all.

These teams seem to be well matched, but the streaking Cavaliers should be able to get the win in Philadelphia.
