Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Brooklyn Nets Betting Odds Breakdown

The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Brooklyn Nets will be finishing a little two game stretch between each other on Thursday.

Cleveland is coming into this game as the favorite at -4, and the over/under is sitting at 219.5 points. Along with that, the moneyline is sitting at -175 for Cleveland and +150 for Brooklyn.

Cleveland Cavaliers Preview

The Cavaliers are coming into this game at 46-28, which has them sitting at fourth place in the eastern conference.

The Cavaliers were able to get a 115-109 victory over the Nets in the first game of this two game set, and this was a game touch and go for a little while, but they were able to hold on for the win. The thing that they need to clean up in this game is how they close the game. They were up by 16 points going into the fourth quarter, but they still let Brooklyn outscore them by 10 points, which they can’t let happen in every game, especially in the playoffs. So, we’ll see if they can do a bit better in that category in this one.

Something that was a very welcoming sight to see in their last game was the production Cleveland got from their bench. This season as a whole, Cleveland’s bench has been able to produce about 28 points per game, which is 27th in the league, but in their last game, they were able to get 38 points from their bench, which was led by Caris LeVert with 18 points, along with Cedi Osman putting up 12 points. In fact, this has been a bit of a trend for Cleveland, because they have averaged 41 points off the bench in their last three games. If they can keep that up, it would be huge for them since the playoffs are just right around the corner and they need any offense that they can get.

Brooklyn Nets Preview

The Nets are sitting at 39-33 on the season, and that has them sitting at sixth in the eastern conference.

There are several things that the Nets need to clean up in this game, but nothing stands out more than their three point percentage in their last game against Cleveland. They took 33 three point shots, but they were only able to connect on nine of them. And what’s surprising about this is that Brooklyn tends to be a pretty good team from three point range. On the season, they are fourth in the league for three point percentage at about 38 percent, and that has been one of the biggest strengths for them throughout the season. If Brooklyn were to clean anything up going into this one, their three point percentage has to be one of the top priorities.

The Nets were able to get a very good performance from an unlikely candidate in Day’Ron Sharpe, and he was arguably the player of the game for Brooklyn in this one. Sharpe is only averaging about five points per game this season along with four assists, but in this game, he was able to go off for 20 points. And on top of that, he snagged 11 of Brooklyn’s 49 rebounds. He doesn’t get too many opportunities for the Nets, with him only getting minutes in two of the last five games. If he can continue to have performances that are even remotely close to that, he should be able to get plenty of opportunities in Brooklyn.

Winner Prediction: Cleveland Cavaliers -4

Going into this game, it just seems like the Cleveland Cavaliers may be a better team than the Brooklyn Nets.

After Cleveland was able to get a win over the Nets in their last time out, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them replicate that.
