Boston Celtics vs. Milwaukee Bucks Preview and Prediction (2/14/23)

Boston Celtics vs. Milwaukee Bucks Betting Odds Breakdown

The Boston Celtics will be hitting the road this week to take on Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.

Milwaukee is coming into this game as the favorite at -4, and the over/under is sitting at 227.5 points.

Boston Celtics Preview

The Celtics are coming off of a win over the Memphis Grizzlies their last time out, and they will have a tall task in the Milwaukee Bucks.

Boston put up a very solid performance against Memphis, with them getting a 10 point victory over them. One thing that they did particularly well in that game was their three point shooting, with them making 21 three pointers in the game. Most players on the Celtics contributed from beyond the arc, with even players like Al Horford, Derrick White, Sam Hauser, and Payton Pritchard all made at least four threes throughout the game. Now obviously, this game won’t be as easy to get some production from three point range, as the Bucks are fifth in the league for opponent three point percentage at 34.6%.

One thing that Boston will have to figure out in this game is how they can stop Giannis Antetokounmpo down. Giannis does most of his offensive work in the paint, so someone like Robert Williams will have to have a strong night defensively so that Giannis doesn’t take this game over. But luckily for Boston, they have been pretty solid this season at defending the inside, with them only allowing about 48 points in the paint per game, which is seventh in the NBA. Either way, Giannis is almost impossible to stop, so they may just have to have a better offensive night than the Bucks.

Milwaukee Bucks Preview

Milwaukee is coming into this game with a 10 game win streak, and they will be trying to keep it going against Boston.

These are two of the best teams in the entire NBA, and it should be fun to see players like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jayson Tatum go back and forth. In their last game, Milwaukee was able to get a 13 point win over the Los Angeles Clippers. In that game Khris Middleton was absent, and other players like Brook Lopez and Jrue Holiday stepped up to help Milwaukee secure the win. Even Jevon Carter and MarJon Beauchamp got into double digits on the scoreboard. There is a possibility that Middleton is out again in this one, so they may need these players to play well again to give them a chance over the powerhouse that is the Boston Celtics.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is coming into this game as an MVP candidate once again this year, and it wouldn’t be surprising if he has another big night against the Celtics. Giannis put up 35 points, eight rebounds, and six assists against the Clippers, which led the team. It’s been difficult for every team to slow him down, and it wouldn’t be surprising if Boston struggles with him as well. Boston’s best bet to stop him is to have a physical player like Robert Williams give him a challenge at the rim.
