Indianapolis Colts vs. Dallas Cowboys (12/4 @ 8:20 PM EST.)
Spread: Dallas (-10)
Total: Over/Under 42.5
Overview and Betting Info
The 4-7-1 Indianapolis Colts travel to Big D to take on the 8-3 Dallas Cowboys in Sunday Night Football.
The Colts are struggling, and the Cowboys have been playing well in recent weeks.
Indianapolis Colts
Former player turned interim coach Jeff Saturday has gone 1-2 since his impromptu hiring.
His sole win was against another struggling team: the 4-7 Las Vegas Raiders. Though the Colts gave the Philadelphia Eagles a bit of a fit, they have not looked good ever since. That includes a Monday night loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers in which Coach Saturday’s time management skills were called into question.
Besides Michael Pittman and Jonathan Taylor, the Colts offense is nonexistent. Matt Ryan cannot get the ball out of his hands quickly enough before being sacked or pressured.
In the Week 13 NFL Power Rankings, the Colts are 27th overall.
Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys team needs a win to keep pace in an extremely competitive NFC East division. One of their losses is to the 10-1 and top ranked Philadelphia Eagles in the Week 13 NFL Power Rankings. They also dropped the Week 1 game against Tampa Bay, but the most inexplicable loss was in Week 10 to the Green Bay Packers in overtime.
Offensively, Dak Prescott, Tony Pollard, Ezekiel Elliott, Michael Gallup, and CeeDee Lamb have been carrying the load while second year star Micah Parsons continues to make a name for himself on defense.
The Cowboys are ranked 4th in the NFL’s Week 13 Power Rankings.
Free Pick: Under 42.5
The Cowboys outscore the Colts by an average of 10 points per game (Dallas: 25.4, Indianapolis 15.8).
If the Cowboys have any weakness, it is in stopping the run. They have allowed an average of 131.9 yards per game, whereas the Colts have allowed 118.3. This poses a wonderful opportunity for the Colts and 2021 NFL rushing leader Jonathan Taylor who is now healthy after dealing with an ankle injury earlier in the season.
The Colts may like the role of spoiler as they nearly ruined the Eagles perfect season. Despite many signals indicating the Cowboys could cover the spread, the recommended bet is Under 42.5.
