Miami is coming off of a tough loss to the Green Bay Packers, and they have a big divisional matchup against the Patriots this week.
Going into this game, the biggest news for the Dolphins is that they will probably be without Tua Tagovailoa, who is once again back in the concussion protocol. And now, this will be a difficult game to win with how good New England’s defense has been, with them letting up about only 19 points per game.
It is possible that in this game that Miami could play very good defense on Mac Jones. Jones has been kind of inconsistent this year, but he did have a good game last week against the Cincinnati Bengals. However, the Dolphins tend to let up a lot of passing yards per game, with them letting up about 245 passing yards per game this year. So, this could be a good matchup for Mac Jones and the Patriots.
New England Patriots Preview
The New England Patriots will be trying to keep their playoff hopes alive after falling to the Bengals in week 16.
This game feels very winnable to the Patriots. Tua Tagovailoa will most likely be out after going into concussion protocol, and it feels like they should have the advantage with him out. On top of that, they’re defense has been pretty solid just about all season, so they should be feeling pretty good about themselves on defense. But, there is still a question on if Mac Jones can be consistent.
Mac Jones has been all over the place this season. At times, he has been very solid, but at other times he has been benched for Bailey Zappe, who made a very strong case for the starting job for New England. However, Miami has not been the greatest when it comes to pass defense, so it could give Mac Jones a chance to show what he’s made of once again. If he can play well, the Patriots should have a good chance to win.

The Patriots are fighting to make it to the playoffs, and Mac Jones should be able to lead the Patriots over the Dolphins.
Assuming New England gets the win here, the playoff picture in the AFC will become much more interesting.
