Overview and Betting Info

The Philadelphia Eagles got the monkey off their backs in Week 10 on Monday night with their first loss of the season to the Washington Commanders. The Commanders are known to be killjoys and stopped the unbeaten streak of the Steelers in 2020. If anything, the Eagles are better for the loss and the timing of it, and the 1972 Miami Dolphins can once again toast to their unprecedented perfect unbeaten record.

Philadelphia Eagles

At 8-1, the Eagles are not resting on their laurels. They signed defensive tackles that should only make them better down the stretch and are positioning themselves for a deep playoff run. On consecutive days, they signed free agent veterans Linval Joseph and Ndamukong Suh who will be key rotational players specifically to help the Eagles stop opponents’ running attacks.

Indianapolis Colts

After a much publicized and controversial hiring of former Colts player Jeff Saturday as the team’s interim head coach, the Colts won their Week 10 game against an equally beleaguered Las Vegas Raiders team. The Colts are now 4-5-1 on the season.

The Colts team scores an average of 15.7 points per game which is not going to get the job done against an explosive Eagles team who averages 27.3 points per game. The Eagles allow 18.3 points per game on average, but that number could decrease as those newly acquired defensive tackles get integrated into the game plan.

Coach Saturday did get veteran quarterback Matt Ryan off the bench in Week 10, and Ryan is expected to start again in Week 11. He has fallen below expectations since coming to the Colts from the Falcons in the 2022 offseason. At 37 years of age, he will be looking for the mojo to pull off a massive upset.

Free Pick: Philadelphia (-7.5)

The Eagles are just too good in 2022 so the recommended pick is Eagles (-7.5). Could the Colts get the running game going with Jonathan Taylor against the Eagles? The Eagles are allowing an average of 124.8 yards per game rushing, but Taylor has been hampered by an ankle injury for weeks that finally is improving. He rushed for over 100 yards in Week 10 for the first time since Week 1. The Eagles will be ready for anything that Saturday and the Colts try to get past them, and this game will be a one-sided rout from start to finish.
