Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants (12/11 @ 1:00 PM EST.)
Spread: Philadelphia (-6.5)
Total: Over/Under 44.5
Overview and Betting Info
The 11-1 Philadelphia Eagles take the short trip north on I-95 to take on NFL East divisional rival, the New York Giants who are 7-4-1.
The NFC East has been a surprising juggernaut this season, proven yet again in Week 13 when the Giants and the 7-5-1 Washington Commanders rallied to a tie. Every team in the NFC East is in the playoff hunt, and it is worth noting that the Commanders are the only team to beat the Eagles this season.
This is the first time the Eagles and Giants have met this season; their second meeting is the regular season finale for both teams in Week 18. As a result, this may be the only time the Giants face the Eagles starters in the regular season.
Philadelphia Eagles
Eagles quarterback (and potential NFL MVP candidate) Jalen Hurts continues to get better each week. He has been consistently great in the passing game. When yards are needed on the ground, he has taken the ball and earned the rushing yards on his own or handed it off to Miles Sanders and Boston Scott who have given the Eagles just enough of a ground game to be considered a dual threat offense.
After briefly relinquishing the top seed in the Pro Football Talk weekly rankings to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Eagles are back in the well-deserved top spot for Week 14.
New York Giants
After a great start to the season, the Giants’ momentum has come to a halt in the last five games. They were 1-3-1 during that time. The Giants need to get back to basics and get running back Saquon Barkley in the groove and breaking out for big runs. On defense, the Giants need to figure out what the rest of the league has struggled with, and that is how to contain Hurts.
The Giants are sliding in the wrong direction in the Week 14 Pro Football Talk rankings, dropping from 10th in Week 13 to 11th in Week 14.
Free Pick: Philadelphia (-6.5)
No one can dispute that the Eagles are the hottest team in the NFL. They will continue their winning ways in Week 14 against a Giants team that is losing its momentum and direction on a weekly basis. Much to the chagrin of the hometown Giants fans, the visiting Eagles will emerge victorious and cover the (-6.5) spread in Week 14.
