Memphis Grizzlies Vs. Utah Jazz Betting Odds Breakdown
The Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz will be wrapping up a two game series in Utah on Monday, with the Jazz taking the first game that they faced each other in on Saturday night.
Memphis is coming in as the favorite at -3.5, while the over/under is sitting at 235.5 points.
Memphis Grizzlies Preview
The Memphis Grizzlies just barely lost to the Utah Jazz on Saturday night, and they’ll be looking to bounce back in this game.
For Memphis, they could win this game if Ja Morant plays. He did not play in their last game due to an illness, and it’s not known if he will be making a comeback in their next game. Jaren Jackson Jr. missed the last game as well, and he will miss this game as well. So, Ja Morant’s availability might decide this game. However, with Morant out, other players like Desmond Bane and Dillon Brooks really stepped up to give Memphis a chance. Bane ended up with 32 points, and Brooks put 30 points up on the board. If those two can stay consistently good along with Ja Morant possibly coming back, Memphis can be a really dangerous team.
The Grizzlies’ defense played pretty well on Saturday night, but it didn’t really mean much in the end when Memphis turned the ball over 20 times. Their defense forced 19 turnovers, which is really good, but turning the ball over 20 times isn’t something that can keep happening. The loss against Utah can’t be blamed on the defense with how good they played, with them putting up 11 steals and five blocks. If Memphis wants to win, they have to keep the number of turnovers down.
Utah Jazz Preview
The Utah Jazz have been a surprising team to start the year, with them being 5-2 early on. So, they’ll be trying to keep that up.
Just like Memphis, Utah played well. They shot the ball very well making just a little over 51 percent of their shots. The story for Utah in this game was how many three pointers they made in this game. They attempted 44 three pointers, while making 19 of them, which is probably why they were able to get the edge over Memphis. But, the biggest strength that Utah has is their chemistry.
The Jazz play their best basketball when they play as a team. They’ve started off 5-2 this season, and they are continuing to play well as a team. Even their assist numbers are impressive. In their last game, both Kelly Olynyk and Collin Sexton had four assists, Lauri Markkanen had five assists, Jordan Clarkson had six assists, and Jarred Vanderbilt had seven assists. Sharing the ball is such an important part of basketball, and Utah does it very well. And because of that, they keep putting themselves into positions to win.
Winner Prediction: Memphis Grizzlies -3.5
Their last game was really close on Saturday night, with the final score being 124-123. Ja Morant could be back in this game, and that would be huge for Memphis. Memphis should be able to clean up their mistakes going into this game, so they should be able to get a win in Utah.
