Atlanta Hawks Vs. New York Knicks Preview and Prediction (12/7/22)

Line: Knicks -2, Hawks +2
Total: 231.5

Atlanta Hawks Vs. New York Knicks Betting Odds Breakdown

Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks will be taking on the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.

New York is coming into this game as the favorite at -2, and the over/under is sitting at 231.5 points.

Atlanta Hawks Preview

Atlanta is coming into this game off of a loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, and they will want to bounce back here against New York.

The Hawks didn’t have a terrible game against the Thunder, but free throws were what ultimately ended their chances of winning. Atlanta had 17 free throw attempts, which they made 13 of them, and the Thunder ended up with 24 attempts, which they ended up making 23 of them. Their biggest problem was trying to contain Shai-Gilgeous Alexander, and they failed by allowing him to put 35 points up on the board. Luckily for Atlanta, the Knicks don’t have one specific player that may have a very good game every night, so it seems like they could have a good night on the defensive end.

Even though they could have a good defensive game against the Knicks, defense was not something that the Hawks did well against the Thunder. It’s something that can be cleaned up, and the Hawks do need to change it going into this game. For the Knicks, they had an interesting game last time out, but they were still able to come away with the win.

New York Knicks Preview

The Knicks got a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers in their last game, and it was just an ugly game for both teams.

If not for how bad Cleveland’s offense was, the Knicks would have ended up losing this game. Cleveland shot the ball at around 35 percent, and it’s not even like the Knicks played great defense. Cleveland just didn’t hit their shots. But going into this game, their defense is not the biggest issue that New York is facing. They desperately need to clean up how many times they turn the ball over.

In the entire game against the Cavaliers, both teams traveled a combined 13 times. The Knicks ended up with more turnovers in the game, with them giving the ball up 20 times before the game was over. It was such a sloppy game, and it’s a miracle that New York was able to win. They need to hold on to the ball much better, and the Atlanta Hawks will not let many mistakes slide like how the Cavaliers did.

Winner Prediction: Atlanta Hawks +2

The Knicks haven’t been too impressive this season, and it feels like the Hawks will be able to get a win just because it seems like their team is better.

Along with that, Trae Young loves to play in Madison Square Garden, so we’ll see how good of a game he can have.
