Miami Heat vs. Philadelphia 76ers Betting Odds Breakdown

The Miami Heat will be making a trip up to Philadelphia for a game with the 76ers.

Philadelphia is coming into this game as the favorite at -6 and the over/under is sitting at 216.5 points. Along with that, the moneyline is at -230 for Philadelphia and +210 for Miami.

Miami Heat Preview

Miami is coming off of a loss to the Charlotte Hornets, and they will be looking to make some changes against Philadelphia.

In this game, it looks like Miami is going to have their hands full with the 76ers. Something that Miami will need to do in this game is defend the perimeter well. Miami hasn’t had the best time with their defense from beyond the arc this season, with them letting their opponents convert on about 37 percent of their three point shots, which is 20th in the league. And the reason why that’s not good for them specifically in this game is because Philadelphia is a great three point shooting team. This season, Philadelphia shoots the ball about 38 percent from three, which is fourth in the league. Miami needs to try to slow them down from beyond the arc, but that won’t be the only area where Miami will have their hands full.

The matchup that should be very entertaining in this game will be between Bam Adebayo against Joel Embiid. Embiid has been putting up MVP numbers once again this season, and Bam Adebayo is one of the best defenders in the league. In fact, Bam Adebayo has a defensive rating of 108.8. He will most certainly have his hands full with Embiid, who averages 33 points per game on 53 percent from the field. It will be a very physical matchup, and it should be fun to watch.

Philadelphia 76ers Preview

Philadelphia is coming off of a loss to the Celtics, and they will be looking to keep it going here against Miami.

The 76ers are 4-1 in their last five games, and they have played some very good basketball in that span. It feels like Philadelphia has the edge in this game, and they should feel good about their chances going into this one. With an MVP caliber player like Joel Embiid that’s putting up 33 points and 10 rebounds a night, along with James Harden who is an elite scorer and is also having one of the best years of his career when it comes to sharing the ball, this team can be very dangerous, but they still do need to be careful with the Heat.

Although it doesn’t seem like the Miami Heat has the same star-power as the 76ers, they are still a solid team. Jimmy Butler is continuing to play at a high level this season, as he is averaging about 22 points, along with six rebounds and five assists per game. They also have some very good shooters on their team like Tyler Herro that can do consistent damage to defenses while on the floor. And like said before, this game should be very fun to watch with the defensive anchor of Bam Adebayo facing off with Joel Embiid down low. Miami has some very solid players, so Philadelphia needs to play defense at a high level, which they have done for most of the season as they are fifth in the league for defensive efficiency.
