Seattle Mariners vs. Cleveland Guardians Betting Odds Breakdown

The Seattle Mariners will be kicking off a three game series with the Cleveland Guardians on Friday.

Cleveland is coming into this game as the favorite at -1.5, and the over/under is sitting at 7 runs. Along with that, the moneyline is sitting at -115 for Cleveland and -105 for Seattle.

Seattle Mariners Preview

The Mariners are sitting at 2-5 on the season, and they will be looking to improve on that in this game.

Already this season, the Mariners have had a four game series with the Guardians in their first series of the season. They dropped three of those four games, so they will be trying to bounce back against Cleveland in this series. The Mariners had a range of problems in that series, with their pitching not showing up in some games, and then their hitting just disappeared for the most part in other games. This won’t be an easy series to bounce back in, so we’ll see how it goes for Seattle.

In the first seven games of the season for Seattle, they have not performed up to expectations. They are just 2-5 on the season, which is the worst in the AL West. However, there is still a lot of season left, so just about anything can happen. What is encouraging for them is that their pitching hasn’t been too bad in these first seven games. It still isn’t the best pitching performance, but for the most part, their bats have not been too great. And with Logan Gilbert on the mound for them in this one, it wouldn’t be surprising to see some more good pitching from Seattle in this one.

Cleveland Guardians Preview

The Cleveland Guardians are sitting at 5-2 on the season, and they have been doing pretty good at the start of the season.

The Guardians are one of the youngest teams in the MLB, and they are going to be making some noise in the coming years. It wouldn’t be too surprising if they gave a lot of teams problems this year. They pushed the Yankees to five games in the ALDS last year before being eliminated, and they have only improved ever since then. This is a very young team, but the Guardians are a team that nobody wants to mess around with this season.

Cleveland will be having Aaron Civale on the mound in this one, and he put on a show in his first outing of the season. His first outing was also against the Mariners, where he went out on the mound and pitched seven scoreless innings, along with three strikeouts and he only let up three hits. That will be difficult to keep up, but if he can do something like that again, this could very well end up being a pitcher’s duel.

Winner Prediction: Cleveland Guardians -1.5

With this being Cleveland’s home opener, you can expect the crowd to be a big factor in this game.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see this become a game of pitching, but it also wouldn’t be surprising to see the Guardians get a win in this one.
