Brooklyn Nets Preview
Brooklyn has made some major changes to their team, but they can still be a problem for other teams in the league.
The Nets fell just short of the 76ers by the score of 101-98, and they won’t have an easy bounce back game against the Knicks. Despite the fact that the Nets traded away all their stars, they still have many pieces on their roster that can compete with other teams. They may not be a fantastic team when the playoffs come around, but for now, they are able to compete. The Nets mainly had trouble against the 76ers because they committed a lot of fouls, which led to a lot of free throws. But, odds are that it won’t happen again because the Philadelphia 76ers tend to get to the line a lot.
Although the Nets are a solid team, they do need to be careful with the Knicks. The Knicks are a very solid team, and they always put up a fight in just about any game they play. This should also be a great test for the young Nic Claxton, who is going to have his hands full with Mitchell Robinson down low. It should be a very physical matchup between those two, and that also means that it should be very entertaining.
New York Knicks Preview
The Knicks are coming off a 126-120 win over the Utah Jazz, and they will now turn their attention to Brooklyn.
New York has had an alright season, and they really are able to compete with several teams. For New York, it seems like they play the best when they attack the paint and get shots on the inside. That’s why this should be a good matchup between Nic Claxton and Mitchell Robinson. Those two will probably end up challenging each other a lot on the inside, and it should be a fun matchup between those two.
When the Knicks try to get the ball into the paint, they end up playing pretty well. Per game, they average about 51 points in the paint per game. Now, that would be fine if they were able to hit their shots outside of the paint consistently. For example, the Knicks only shoot about 34% from three point range, which has them sitting at 24th in the whole league. That’s why the Knicks need to force the ball into the paint and get high percentage shots.
Winner Prediction: Brooklyn Nets +2.5
The Knicks should probably rely on getting the ball into the paint, but it won’t be that easy with Nic Claxton down there. The Nets seem like a better all around team right now, and they should be able to get the win over the Knicks.
