Green Bay Packers vs. Philadelphia Eagles (11/27 @ 8:20 PM EST.)

Spread: Philadelphia (-6.5)
Total: Over 45.5

Overview and Betting Info

The 4-7 Green Bay Packers take their beleaguered selves into Lincoln Financial Field to take on the 9-1 Philadelphia Eagles for the Week 12 edition of Sunday Night Football.

To say that the Packers need to win is an understatement. Their season is over if they leave Philly with a loss on Sunday night. As for the Eagles, they have not been as sharp in their past two games, but they dug deep (and wisely utilized Jalen Hurts’ legs) to get out of a hole that nearly cost them the game against Indianapolis last week. Their sole loss is against the Commanders in Week 10. Speaking of Week 10, that is the last time the Packers looked like they had life when they handed the Eagles NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys a loss.

Green Bay Packers

Which Packers team is coming to Philadelphia? Is it the one that overcame adversity to beat the Cowboys, or is it the one that looked lackluster at best against the Tennessee Titans? Davante Adams took the explosiveness of the Packers offense with him to Las Vegas. Aside from Aarons, Rodgers and Jones, the Packers have been low on star power in 2022, and even these two have looked out of sorts at times.

The Packers are ranked 20th in Pro Football Talk’s Week 12 rankings, and that is down two spots from last week’s 18th place ranking. They are going the wrong way for a team trying to claw its way into postseason action.

Philadelphia Eagles

The 9-1 Eagles are as good as advertised. They lost to the Commanders in Week 10 which was fortuitous because it took the pressure of going undefeated off the team. As for their Week 11 performance against the Colts, they did not play their best football. However, a win is a win no matter how ugly it looks. The offense does miss tight end Dallas Goedert who suffered a shoulder injury in the Commanders loss that put him on IR for at least the next four games.

The best player on the Eagles offense continues to be Jalen Hurts so as this team goes down the stretch, the ball needs to be in his hands, and his legs need to be doing the running as compared to Miles Sanders or Boston Scott.

The Eagles are ranked 2nd in the Week 12 Pro Football Talk rankings; the Kansas City Chiefs are the top ranked team.

Free Pick: Under 45.5

Contrary to proper belief, this will be a low scoring event. It is shaping up to be a wet weekend in Philadelphia which will impact both offenses and keep the score on the low side. For that reason, Under 45.5 is the recommended pick.
