New England Patriots Vs. New York Jets Preview and Prediction (10/30/22)

Line: Patriots -1.5
Total: 40.5

New England Patriots Vs. New York Jets Betting Odds Breakdown

The New England Patriots will be making a trip to New York to face the Jets this weekend, and New England will try to bounce back after a blowout loss to the Chicago Bears, while the Jets are coming off of a win against the Denver Broncos.

The Patriots are coming into the game as the favorite at -1.5 , and the over/under is sitting at 40.5 points.

New England Patriots Preview

The Patriots are coming off of a very difficult loss to the Chicago Bears, losing by the score of 33-14.  So, they’ll be trying to have a bounce back game against the Jets.

The Patriots’ offense is in a weird spot right now with them not sure on who their starting quarterback is. New England had confidence in Mac Jones when they selected him with the 15th pick in the 2021 draft, but Bailey Zappe is making a case for himself to be a starter. Even in New England’s game against the Bears, Mac Jones got benched due to his poor play, and then Bailey Zappe came in and played quite a bit better. Something that New England can try to take advantage of in this game is New York’s run defense. Their run defense isn’t bad, but Damien Harris is a great running back that can get by any defense. If Harris can play well, the Patriots could have a chance to win.

New England’s defense seems to be really inconsistent. Earlier in the season, they shutout the Detroit Lions, and they also held the Cleveland Browns to only 15 points. But against the Bears, their defense completely collapsed. No matter what New England did, they could not contain Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears. And with how good some of the Jets’ wide receivers are, this could be a very difficult game for New England on the defensive side of the ball.

New York Jets Preview

The Jets are coming off of a win against the Denver Broncos, and they’ll try to build some momentum up at home against the Patriots

For the Jets, they could get the win just by running the ball. New England’s run defense is not very good, and the Jets should be looking to take advantage of it. And now that James Robinson was traded to New York, the Jets’ game plan should be pretty easy to predict going into this game. Along with their run game, they also have some really good wide receivers that should be able to get some good offense in against the Patriots. But, the run game will probably be the most important part of the game for the Jets.

Overall, New York’s defense has not performed too badly this season. The Jets have gotten Carl Lawson back after he tore his ACL, and rookie Sauce Gardner has proven that he could be elite in the NFL. All around, the Jets defense is pretty solid, so you should expect them to have a good performance against New England.

Winner Prediction: New York Jets

The Jets have been playing very well this season, and you should expect that to continue.

New England has been having troubles this season, and with New York being in front of the home crowd, they should be able to get the win over the New England Patriots.
