Overview and Betting Info

The 3-7 Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Indianapolis to take on the 4-6-1 Colts in a Monday night football matchup.

The Colts are on the absolute fringe of the AFC playoff picture and have gone 1-1 since Coach Frank Reich was fired and replaced by former player turned interim coach Jeff Saturday.

The Steelers have struggled to find their way in the post Ben Roethlisberger era; they are tied with the Cleveland Browns at the bottom of the AFC North division.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Since 2007, Mike Tomlin has never had a losing season as the head coach of the Steelers. That could change in 2022. Quarterback Mitch Trubisky started the season but was replaced in Week 4 by rookie Kenny Pickett out of Pitt. Pickett has struggled, throwing 3 touchdowns and 8 interceptions, and has led the team to a 2-4 record while under center.

Defensive superstar T.J. Watt suffered a torn pectoral muscle in Week 1 and did not return to action until Week 10. This is par for the course in a Steelers season far removed from the 11-0 run the team made just two years ago in 2020.

Pro Football Talk ranks the Steelers at 27th in its Week 12 rankings.

Indianapolis Colts

The Colts have endured miserable “luck” since quarterback Andrew Luck abruptly retired before the 2019 season. They have tried many quarterbacks, and none fit the bill. In 2022, Matt Ryan joined the team in a trade with Atlanta. Ryan’s performance was inconsistent at best which resulted in former coach Frank Reich benching him. It did not help Ryan’s cause that 2021 NFL rushing leader Jonathan Taylor has dealt with an ankle injury for part of the season.

With Jeff Saturday at the helm, Ryan is back on the field. The Colts played two inspired games since Saturday took over. One resulted in a win over the Raiders, and the Colts gave the Eagles a scare in Week 11 before losing a nail-biter by the score of 17-16.

Pro Football Talk ranks the Colts 22nd in its Week 12 rankings.
