Oklahoma City Thunder Preview
Oklahoma City is coming off of a win over the Golden State Warriors, and they will have a difficult matchup with the Suns next.
For a team that was supposed to have a difficult year this season, the Thunder have not done too bad as they are sitting at 31-34. Most of the Thunder’s success this year is due to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, as he is having the best year of his career all across the board with him averaging about 31 points, five rebounds, and six assists per game. He has had a great season so far, and with how many young players that are going to be developing on the Thunder in the coming seasons, Thunder fans should be very excited for what is to come.
Although Oklahoma City has done alright this season, this game will not come easy by any means. The Phoenix Suns finally have Kevin Durant playing for them, and they are looking like a very dangerous team out in the western conference. What’s difficult for OKC in this game is that it’s very possible that they just aren’t able to defend against the Suns because of how much talent Phoenix has. The Thunder already let up a lot of points per game as it is with about 117 points given up per game, and it doesn’t help them that the Suns have averaged 120 points per game since Kevin Durant started playing for them. It won’t be easy for them to win, so they’ll have to hope for some mistakes from Phoenix.
Phoenix Suns Preview
Phoenix is coming into this game at 36-29, which has them sitting at fourth in the western conference.
With the addition of Kevin Durant to the Suns, it looks like they are going to be an absolute force when the playoffs come around. In the three games that Kevin Durant has played in for the Suns, Phoenix has a record of 3-0. Two of the three games ended up being won pretty easily, but the Mavericks did end up giving them a few problems. But regardless, they were still able to get the win over Dallas. And in that game, we got a good idea of what the Kevin Durant and Devin Booker duo could look like.
In Phoenix’s last game against Dallas, we were able to see the potential of the duo of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. Against the Mavericks, Kevin Durant put up 36 points on the board, along with seven rebounds and three assists. Along with that, Devin Booker also had 36 points. Not only did he score the ball very well, he also shared the ball at a high level with 10 assists. He also ended up snagging five rebounds. Both Durant and Booker had great games in their last time out, and it will be exciting to see if they can do something like that again against OKC.
Winner Prediction: Phoenix Suns -12.5
Phoenix has looked incredible after the addition of Kevin Durant, and you should expect that to continue. Although the Thunder have been solid this season, it seems difficult to think that they will be able to get the win over the Suns.
