Golden State Warriors vs. San Antonio Spurs Betting Odds Breakdown

The Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs will be meeting up in San Antonio on Friday. Golden State is coming into this game as the favorite at -8.5, and the over/under is sitting at 239.5 points.

Golden State Warriors Preview

Golden State has had an underwhelming season so far, and they need to turn it around quickly.

The Warriors are coming off of a loss to the Phoenix Suns, and they did not play too well in that game. Other than Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Jordan Poole, there was not a whole lot of offense for the Warriors. And on top of that, they didn’t shoot the ball too well, with them shooting just south of 40 percent from the field. However, they won’t have as tough of a challenge against the Spurs, but the Warriors do have to overcome adversity on the road, which they haven’t been able to do.

This season, the Warriors have the worst record on the road, with them sitting at 3-16 on the road. Along with that, they are on a three game skid against teams that they should be able to beat in the Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, and of course the Phoenix Suns. The Warriors are having a very difficult time this season, and they need to change something before it gets too out of hand, and they have a perfect opportunity to do that against the Spurs.

San Antonio Spurs Preview

Simply put, the Spurs are just not a very good team this year, with them sitting at 13-29 on the season.

San Antonio’s offense this season has not been very good, with them being ranked 28th in the league in offensive efficiency, along with them being ranked 23rd in the whole league for the most points scored at about 112 points per game. They have had trouble keeping up with more offensive teams, and their defense also isn’t helping them out either, especially with how good Golden State’s offense can be at times.

San Antonio is ranked last in the entire league in defensive efficiency, and they also let up the most amount of points per game in the whole league at about 120.6 points per game. The only thing the Spurs really have going for them in this game is how bad the Warriors have been on the road this season. If that trend for Golden State continues in this game, the Spurs could have a chance at stealing this game.

Winner Prediction: Golden State Warriors -8.5

On paper, this should be an easy win for the Golden State Warriors. It looks like they have the better roster in this matchup, and you should expect them to show that. Although they have had struggles on the road this season, you should expect the Warriors to get the win over a struggling San Antonio Spurs team.
