Toronto Raptors Vs. Brooklyn Nets Preview and Prediction (10/21/22)

Line: Nets -4
Total: 225.5

Toronto Raptors Vs. Brooklyn Nets Betting Odds Breakdown

In the new NBA season, the Toronto Raptors will be making a visit to Brooklyn to play the Nets on October 21st.

The Brooklyn Nets took the season series over the Toronto Raptors last year, and they will be starting a new one with this game. Brooklyn is coming into the game as the favorite at -4, and the over/under is sitting at 225.5 points.

Toronto Raptors Preview

This game will be the second game for the Raptors in the new NBA season, with them taking down the Cleveland Cavaliers in their first game.

Overall, this Raptors team played very well against Cleveland. Scottie Barnes played pretty well in his season debut, and he will be continuing to try to take the next step in his career. Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, Fred VanVleet, and Gary Trent Jr. also played very well along with Barnes. Especially on offense, where they all had over 10 points each. That offense will continue to try to find ways to get through Brooklyn’s defense, which didn’t look very good in the Nets’ first game of the season.

Toronto mainly got the win against the Cavaliers because of their defense. Throughout the entire game, Toronto’s defense racked up 15 steals, with some of them being late in the game to put Cleveland away. And Toronto will be looking to do that again after Brooklyn turned the ball over to the New Orleans Pelicans 16 times.

Brooklyn Nets Preview

Brooklyn is coming off of a blowout loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, and they will be trying to have a huge bounce back game.

The Nets did not play very well against New Orleans. Other than Kevin Durant who had 32 points, no one really stood out for Brooklyn. Ben Simmons had a rough debut with the Nets, while Kyrie Irving didn’t play poorly, but he wasn’t spectacular. A problem for Brooklyn was that their bench didn’t perform very well. Patty Mills had 16 points, but everyone else off the bench did not contribute much on offense. If they want to compete with Toronto, then that has to change.

One of the biggest problems for Brooklyn against New Orleans was their rebounding. In that game, the Nets were out-rebounded 61-39. While the Raptors don’t have as great rebounders as the Pelicans have, they can still get rebounds pretty well. Brooklyn’s defense also didn’t show up against the Pelicans with them letting up 130 points. The Raptors are a pretty good shooting team, and they will take advantage of bad defense whenever they can.

Winner Prediction: Toronto Raptors +4

Toronto has a very solid team, and the Nets are too inconsistent to tell if they will actually show up and play well. They certainly have the roster to do it, but it’s difficult to tell when they will play well. The Raptors should be able to pull away and hold on to get their second win of the season against this Nets team.
