Free Pick Breakdown Reds v. Brewers (5/4/22)

Cincinnati at Milwaukee 7:40 PM EST
Line: Brewers -290
Total: 8
Pitching Match-up: Gutierrez (R) vs Peralta (R)

We wrote a couple of weeks ago that Cincinnati was by far the worst team in the league. Nothing has changed since that article as they are now 3-20 and well on their way to challenge for the worst record in MLB history.

Obviously, we are not going to lay near 3 to 1 in a Baseball game. You do not need us to tell you the Brewers are supposed to win this game quite easily. Instead, we are going to look at the total in this one and we feel it will exceed 8 runs without much of a problem.

Cincinnati’s ERA of 6.12 is currently the worst in the majors by a long way. No one else even has a team ERA in the 5’s. The Reds are in the 6’s. That is a class all to themselves with the only problem being that no one else wants to be in that class.

Milwaukee scored 6 runs last night vs the Reds and they only scored 1 of those runs in the last 4 innings. They were at 5 runs after 4 innings of play. 6 runs for the Brewers tonight should be easily attainable.

The Reds, for as bad as they are with pitching, are pretty much just as bad when it comes to hitting however, they have scored at least 3 runs in 8 of their last 9 games and in those 9 games, the average final score combined to add up to 10.75 runs.

Gutierrez has a 7.41 ERA on the season while Peralta has a 5.00 ERA. It will take an act of God for this game to stay beneath the number we feel as it is simply set to low. It should be 9 to 9.5 and instead we get it at 8 which is great value.
