Giants vs. Dolphins Key Stats

New York Giants

The New York Giants have been the absolute worst offensive team as they are last in the sport with just 11.5 points per game. They are 30th in passing (158 yards) and 23rd in rushing (93 yards) up to this point. Quarterback Daniel Jones has not been getting much time to get things cooking as he is 90-of-131 (68.7 completion percentage) for 765 yards with two touchdowns and six interceptions while also running 34 times for 173 yards (5.1 yards per carry) with a rushing touchdown as well. The offensive line has struggled as they have allowed 23 total sacks thus far, including 11 on Monday night.

The defense for the New York Giants needs to figure out how to improve significantly as they are 30th in NFL with 30.5 points per game on 347.3 total yards per game (213.5 passing, 133.8 rushing). They are not applying much pressure on the opposing offense as they have recorded just four sacks and a forced fumble. Linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux has been their star defensive player as he has nine total tackles (four solo, five assisted), three sacks and a pass deflection. The opposing offenses have converted on 22-of-51 (43.14 percent) third down attempts and needs to figure out how to slow that down a bit more.

Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have been the top offensive team in the National Football League as they are averaging 37.5 points while leading in passing (334.3) and rushing (176.8) right now. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been a NFL MVP candidate as he is 97-of-136 (71.3 completion percentage) for 1,306 yards with nine touchdown passes and three interceptions. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill has been doing extremely well as the top receiver in the sport as he has 28 receptions on 40 targets for 470 yards (16.8 yards per catch) with four touchdown receptions so far. They have been doing pretty well at moving the chains as they went 16-of-38 (42.11 percent) on third down and 2-of-7 (28.57 percent) on fourth down. With 20 total touchdowns as a team, they are dominating offensively.

The defense of the Dolphins has been absolutely atrocious as they are currently 29.8 points per game given up while allowing 395 total yards (271.5 passing, 123.5 rushing). Miami is doing pretty well as they have recorded 10 sacks, two interceptions, 18 pass deflections, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in totality. Linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel has been doing well and has been underrated as he has 19 total tackles (11 solo, eight assisted), three sacks, a pass deflection and a fumble recovery. They need to figure out how to get off the field as they are giving up 24-of-52 (46.15 percent) on third down attempts.
