NFC North 2023 Preview

By TakingVegas Staff Writer

The NFC North is one of the more interesting divisions to bet on as there is no clear-cut favorite. All four teams realistically can wind up in first or fourth place. With Aaron Rodgers and Dalvin Cook out, it seems to be closer to the pack. Let’s take a look at the NFC North and decide who we should bet to win the division.

Detroit Lions (+140)

The Detroit Tigers had a strong 2022 season and are looking to build on it here. They were able to draft running back Jahmyr Gibbs and tight end Sam LaPorta to help create more action in the passing game. The defense di not really change too much as middle linebacker Jack Campbell was selected and they added cornerback CJ Gardner-Johnson from Philadelphia. This Detroit team has the ability to win the division but the Lions have to really showcase the ability to carry momentum from last year.

Minnesota Vikings (+275)

The fact the Minnesota Vikings do not have better odds is a little confusing. A big reason is the fact they were able to win a NFL record 11 one-score victories. However, Kirk Cousins is in a contract year and the offense has Justin Jefferson and rookie Jordan Addison out wide. They did get rid of Dalvin Cook in the backfield but this offense cold still be good with Alexander Mattison leading the running game.

The defense has some names you know and a rookie corner starting in Mekhi Blackmon. With no true number-one to guard in the division, this should be a good test for them and expect the Vikings to at least be in the hunt for 10 wins this year.

Chicago Bears (+400)

The Chicago Bears are my dark horse team to make a deep run in the playoffs this season and will be placing a wager on them to win the NFC North. Justin Fields needs to prove to be an adequate passer of the football and there will be success. DJ Moore, Chase Claypool and Darnell Mooney are competent enough to lead the way as well as adding tight end Robert Tonyan.

This defense is largely the same but added Tremaine Edmunds and Yannick Ngakoue to add some veteran leadership. This team can make a run in a winnable division so expect the Bears to cash in here.

Green Bay Packers (+400)

Jordan Love finally gets to start after the Aaron Rodgers trade has been completed and I am not as high on him as some other people are. They still have some pieces with Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson. However, you cannot say this team is built to win now as they can really struggle this year and figure out what they have in Love.

Green Bay becomes just another destination with a historic stadium. Avoid betting the Packers right now.
