NFC West 2023 Preview

The NFC West feels like a two-team race as all four teams have some significant question marks. There is a lot of talent sprinkled throughout the division so this can be an interesting one to keep an eye on as the season progresses.

San Francisco 49ers (-160)

The San Francisco 49ers have an incredible amount of talent and three quarterbacks on the roster in Brock Purdy, Trey Lance and Sam Darnold. It feels like one of them will be traded away before the season but this team has arguably the most talent in the sport. They have Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel at the receiver spots, tight end George Kittle, running back Christian McCaffrey and fullback Kyle Juszczyk.

The defense is very similar to last year’s team and should be a great force. It will be difficult to imagine any other team having a better record than the 49ers.

Seattle Seahawks (+195)

It is time to see if last year was an anomaly for Geno Smith or if it is the new normal. They have three incredible wide receivers with DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba as weapons as well as tight end Noah Fant. The only issue is the injuries to their running backs but if Kenneth Walker III and rookie Zach Charbonnet can get healthy, this offense could be solid.

The defense needs to be strong as they have a great secondary with Jamal Adams, Quandre Diggs, Riq Woolen and rookie Devon Witherspoon. This team continues to get stronger and should be worth a flyer for the NFC West.

Los Angeles Rams (+1000)

The Los Angeles Rams are in an interesting position as they can sell off pieces and rebuild this season. However, if they decide to contend they have some veterans that can do well. Matthew Stafford is healthy and have Van Jefferson and Cooper Kupp out wide as well as Cam Akers in the backfield. The defense is led by defensive tackle Aaron Donald but they do not have cornerback Jalen Ramsey as they had to release him. The Rams could struggle but if they can start strong maybe look to bet this and pick swap later in the year.

Arizona Cardinals (+2500)

If the organization wants, they have a clear direction they can go. They can play hard under first-year coach Jonathan Gannon but have their own and Houston’s first round picks in 2024. This team will be without quarterback Kyler Murray as he recovers from a torn ACL and can be the winners of the Caleb Williams sweepstakes. I rather bet the Cardinals to go 0-17 than to win the NFC West.
