Seahawks vs. Giants Key Stats
Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks have been an excellent offensive team throughout the first few weeks as they are averaging 29.0 points on 349.7 total yards per game. Quarterback Geno Smith is playing well as he is currently 71-of-103 (68.9 completion percentage) for 736 yards with four touchdown passes to one interception. Wide receiver DK Metcalf has been one of the top wide receivers in the game thus far as he has 15 catches on 19 targets for 234 yards (15.6 yards per reception) with a touchdown catch. Despite the array of talent on this side of the football, they are not converting well on third down as they are just 10-of-33 (30.3 percent) so far. This offense has been doing well but has room to be even better going forward.
The defense for the Seattle Seahawks has shown a lot of room for improvement as they are 27th in the NFL with 29.3 points per game given up. A huge reason is the fact they are giving up 339.3 passing yards per game so far and that is not going to get the job done. They are doing decently well as they have five sacks, one interception (returned for pick-six), two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Cornerback Tre Brown has been doing well as he has a sack, a tackle for loss, a forced fumble and an interception. They need to figure out how to limit the passing game against them if they want to continue picking up wins.
New York Giants
The New York Giants have been absolutely dreadful offensively as they are scoring 14.3 points on 253.8 total yards per game. Quarterback Daniel Jones has been struggling as he is 63-of-97 (64.9 completion percentage) for 562 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions. They will need to establish a running game as Saquon Barkley is likely going to miss this game with an ankle injury. The team has been doing decently well they are 15-of-40 (37.5 percent) on third down and need to figure out things without their best skill position player.
Their defense needs to show a lot more improvement as they are 30th in the NFL with 32.7 points per game given up. They need to figure out how to limit the running attack against them as they are allowing 138 rushing yards per game up to this point. New York only have recorded a pair of sacks and have zero takeaways throughout the first three games of the season. If they can figure things out on this side of the football, they can have a chance to win this game and get to .500 for the season.
